Sam started dancing at the age of 5 at Danse Acadie, a dance school in Beresford, NB. A few years later, after moving to Dartmouth, NS, she joined Célibou Atelier Danse where she was trained in jazz, hip-hop and technique and was then selected for Troupe Explozone, the first competitive French dance troupe in HRM.

At the age of 15, Sam was selected as a recreational and competitive dance instructor and began her teaching career. Once in university, Sam continued to train in various styles with the Université de Moncton’s dance team Virtuose, while continuing her studies and traveling to Dartmouth repeatedly to train her dancers.

Since the beginning of her teaching career, she has been recognized for her precise and innovative choreographies. At the young age of 19, Sam had a choreography chosen in the final showcase at the Millennium Dance Festival, and since that time, her choreographies have been chosen every year among the best of each competition she attends.
